After my recent medi-facial at Omniya Mediclinic my facialist identified that I should be using a manual exfoliator more often. I have to confess that I have never been that good with scrubby face scrubs! I think I still may have an aversion to them from the painful days of creams with cracked apricot stones in that we all used in our teens – why did we do it to ourselves and our faces?

Since I was starting a new Retinol night treatment and I knew there would be some peeling I decided to start this new face polish at the same time. The Exuviance brand has been created by dermatologists. They offer both professional and at home products and this face polish was launched into the home line at the end of last year.

The skin polish works in three ways exactly as the name suggests. A blend of physical, enzyme and chemical exfoliators all work to leave the skin feeling super smooth. The physical exfoliation comes from professional-grade crystals – similar in concept to a microdermabrasion machine in a salon. Enzymatic and chemical exfoliation comes from Papaya enzyme and 10% Glycolic acid. All of these ingredients combined help to loosen dead skin – in my case quite a lot as I was using my Retinol treatment – whilst also helping to clear congested pores and help with any pigmentation marks.

I use this face polish twice weekly and sometimes leave on for a few minutes as a treatment mask. The crystals are super fine so there is no scratching at all and it rinses away really easily. I love the fact that this combines both enzyme exfoliation and crystals and as my facialist promised my skin is looking and feeling a lot better for using it.
