So here’s part two of my make-up bag favourites…
Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer – I use this faithfully under my eyeshadow every day. I am not a big eyeshadow wearer most of the time but this neutralises any pigment on my eyelid and leaves my skin super smooth. I have found eye primers can often be quite drying on the eyelids but not this one. I then either dust over with loose powder or a neutral eyeshadow such as Bobbi Brown Bone.
The brows are another area where I am slightly obsessive. Having black hair I do not want any warmth or redness in my brow shades. I use two products currently and these give me definition and also tone. Firstly I define and shape my brows with Nars Brow Perfector in shade Suriname. I then add a touch of Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Ebony. This gives me a slight difference in tone. Finally a slick of Nars clear Brow Gel keeps everything in place.
Those of you that know me will know that I am a black eyeliner girl. New to the market is the Benefit They’re Real Push Up Liner – it would’ve been rude not to give it a try. Having worn a slick of gel or pen liner for many years and being pretty skilled at application with a brush my first view of this was that I found it tricky to apply. However the more I have used it the easier I have found it and I think if you find a fine liner brush difficult this may be easier for you. It gives a solid clean line so is not for those wanting a soft line. The real ‘ benefit’ is that it does not budge and you will definitely need a waterproof remover at the ready!
I also keep Charlotte Tilbury ROCK ‘N’ KOHL in black in my bag. This I tend to use more in my upper and lower water lines. A fantastic product that really does what it says.
My current mascara choice is Code VLM mascara. The brush means you can get right to the roots without spiking yourself in the eye – so many times I’ve done that! This gives definition, length and volume without looking like you have had the same mascara on for days – why do girls think this is a flattering look?
So my eye make-up is all about clean lines and minimal colour and the brightness comes in the next post – lips!!!!!
